How Marine Beasts work

Marine Beasts are bred in the Marine Beast Breeding Room, built from player level 23. Its queue breeds 1 beast at a time, 2 from building level 2, 3 from building level 3.

The gene you breed with decides the rarity; each rarity's breeding time and cost are on the beast's page. Every breed adds to your Breeding Level, which decides how many stars a new beast is born with (table below): from Breeding Level 11 every Rare beast is 5★, from 25 every Epic one, from 50 every Legendary one. Exotic genes always give a 0★ beast. Feeding a beast while it breeds speeds it up; the game shows each feed as a 240-min speed-up.

The Season column is the season a species can first be bred. Exotic Sonic Dolphin, Cannon Shark, Mech Octopus and Armored Crab wait until Season 2.

A beast's stats only count once it is deployed in a Marine Beast Prep Room ("Deploy in Prep Room to activate Marine Beast stats"), and only deployed beasts can be picked for a fleet. There are 3 Prep Rooms, from player level 23; each one needs its Expedition Fleet copy built first.

Beasts level up with Marine Beast EXP, which the Marine Beast Training Camp makes every hour. The level cap follows your player level (table below), so a beast stuck at Lv. 100 needs player level 41, not more EXP. Extra stat slots open at beast levels 30, 65 and 100. Advance is separate from leveling: Advance +N needs the beast at Lv. 5×N (up to +20 at Lv. 100), each tier adds 5% to base stats, and you feed the beast until the Advance bar is full.

Only Exotic beasts Star Up; the others keep the stars they were born with. From 0★ to 5★ takes 31 Star-Up Data of its species and 77,500,000 Marine Beast EXP.

Legendary and Exotic beasts can Refine their extra stats. A try costs Legendary Marine Beast Refiner ×10 for a Legendary beast and Exotic Marine Beast Refiner ×10 for an Exotic one. Exotic beasts can lock stats they want to keep: locking 1 makes a try cost Exotic Marine Beast Refiner ×50, Refiner Lock ×2, locking 2 Exotic Marine Beast Refiner ×100, Refiner Lock ×4. Legendary beasts cannot lock. A second stat plan opens at Exotic 2★.

Releasing a beast returns genes one rarity up: Rare gives Epic Dolphin Gene ×20, Epic gives Legendary Dolphin Gene ×100, Legendary gives Exotic Dolphin Gene ×200 (shown for Sonic Dolphin; each species returns its own). An Exotic beast returns 1 Star-Up Data plus the Star-Up Data and Marine Beast EXP spent on its stars; EXP spent on leveling is not returned. Legendary and Exotic beasts cannot be released before Season 2.
