Marine Beasts are pets that you breed from Genes in the Marine Beast Breeding Room (player level 23). A beast does nothing until it is deployed in one of the three Marine Beast Prep Rooms; after that its stats count and it can be picked for a fleet. Rarity is fixed at breeding by the Gene you use, and it decides what the beast can do later: only Exotic beasts can Star Up, only Legendary and Exotic beasts can Refine, and a 5★ beast of one rarity still has lower base stats than a 0★ beast of the next rarity. Beast level is capped by your player level: 100 until player level 41.
What each rarity can do
| Rare | Epic | Legendary | Exotic | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Breeding time | 4h | 12h | 36h | 72h |
| Breeding cost | 80 Rare Genes, 4,000 Gold | 400 Epic Genes, 20,000 Gold | 800 Legendary Genes, 250,000 Gold | 1,200 Exotic Genes, 1,000,000 Gold |
| Stars at birth | 0★–5★, by Breeding Level | 0★–5★, by Breeding Level | 0★–5★, by Breeding Level | always 0★ |
| Extra stat slots | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 |
| Star Up | no | no | no | yes, to 5★ |
| Refine | no | no | yes, no locks | yes, up to 2 locks |
| Released for | 20 Epic Genes | 100 Legendary Genes | 200 Exotic Genes | 1 Star-Up Data + what its stars cost |
Genes and release returns are species-specific. A Rare Sonic Dolphin needs Rare Dolphin Genes and returns Epic Dolphin Genes. Each beast's own page, such as Sonic Dolphin, lists its stats and skill at every rarity and star.
Stars matter less than rarity. A 5★ Rare Sonic Dolphin starts with 1,603 HP and a 0★ Epic one with 1,763. A 5★ Legendary starts with 5,031 and a 0★ Exotic with 5,534. The same holds for ATK and Skill Power, and for all six species, so breeding a higher rarity always beats starring up a lower one.
Breeding
- Open the Breeding Room, pick a species tab and a rarity, and press Breed. Breeding costs the Genes and Gold in the table above.
- The room breeds 1 beast at a time, 2 at building level 2 (player level 27) and 3 at building level 3 (player level 31). Tapping a locked queue slot shows New Queue unlocks at Marine Beast Breeding Room Lv.N.
- While a beast is breeding you can feed it to speed it up. The food it asks for is set by the game server and shown on the queue; the button says 240-min Speed-up.
- When it finishes, tap the reward bubble to collect the new beast.
Which species when. In Season 1 you can breed Sonic Dolphin, Cannon Shark, Mech Octopus and Armored Crab at Rare, Epic and Legendary. Their Exotic versions open in Season 2. Horseshoe Crab arrives in Season 4 and Ironclad Mermaid in Season 5, at every rarity at once.
Gene Choice packs. If you are short of Genes, the breeding screen's Quick Exchange turns a Gene Choice pack into Genes of the selected species, and the Auto Exchange switch counts your packs toward the cost when you press Breed. The packs do not cover every species:
- Rare and Epic Marine Beast Gene Choice only cover Sonic Dolphin, Cannon Shark and Mech Octopus.
- Legendary and Exotic packs come in two versions: I (Legendary, Exotic) covers Dolphin, Shark and Octopus; II (Legendary, Exotic) covers Armored Crab, Horseshoe Crab and Ironclad Mermaid.
Auto Breed unlocks at VIP 8. It starts idle queues by itself using the Genes you have, lowest rarity first. It does not feed, and it never opens Gene Choice packs, even with Auto Exchange on.
Breeding Level and birth stars
Every breed earns Breeding EXP, and your Breeding Level (1–50) sets the star odds for Rare, Epic and Legendary beasts. Exotic beasts are always born at 0★, whatever the level.
| Rarity | First chance of 1★ | Always 5★ from |
|---|---|---|
| Rare | Breeding Level 2 (15%) | Breeding Level 11 |
| Epic | Breeding Level 11 (10%) | Breeding Level 25 |
| Legendary | Breeding Level 25 (5%) | Breeding Level 50 |
| Exotic | never | never (always 0★) |
Breeding Level gets expensive fast: it takes 4,000 Breeding EXP in total to reach level 11, 36,000 to reach 25 and 458,400 to reach 50. The full table of star odds at every Breeding Level is on the Marine Beasts list.
Below Breeding Level 25 every Legendary beast is born 0★, and below level 11 every Epic one. Rare breeds are the cheapest and quickest (4 hours, 4,000 Gold), but how much Breeding EXP each breed gives is not published.
Prep Rooms and deployment
There are three Prep Rooms. Prep Rooms 1 and 2 need player level 23 and Prep Room 3 needs level 25, and each one also needs the matching Expedition Fleet copy built first. Each holds one beast.
Deployment is what makes a beast count:
- Only deployed beasts give stats. The game's help text says base stats apply to all your heroes, and extra stats to every hero of the right faction or class, whether or not those heroes are in an Expedition Fleet lineup.
- Only deployed beasts appear in the fleet lineup's beast picker (Fleet-deployed Marine Beasts Only), where you see each one's battle skill.
- Upgrade, Advance, Refine and Star Up all happen on the deployed beast's screen. An idle beast cannot be trained.
To swap beasts, use Seamless Replace on the beast's screen. Its button gets a red dot when you have a newly bred idle beast of higher rarity, or of the same rarity with more stars. The swap screen says Full Level & Tier Inherited.
Leveling
Beasts level with Marine Beast EXP. It comes from the Marine Beast Training Camp (up to six copies, the first at player level 24 and one more per level up to 29; each makes 600 EXP an hour at level 1, up to 3,240 an hour at level 12) and from the Marine Beast EXP Dungeon. From VIP 7, VIP also raises Training Camp output, by 10% at VIP 7 up to 30% at VIP 15.
Your player level caps the beast's level:
| Player level | Beast level cap | EXP from Lv.1 to the cap |
|---|---|---|
| 1–40 | 100 | 10,072,500 |
| 41–50 | 200 | 40,072,500 |
| 51–60 | 250 | 61,182,500 |
| 61–70 | 300 | 84,622,500 |
| 71+ | 350 | 110,062,500 |
The cap jumps from 100 to 200 at player level 41. A beast stuck at Lv.100 needs you to reach player level 41, not more EXP; the Upgrade button then says Upgrade player to Lv.41 to increase level cap to Lv.200. Extra stat slots open at beast Lv.30, 65 and 100, so a Rare beast's single slot opens at Lv.30 and a Legendary's third at Lv.100.
Example. At player level 40 you can have six Training Camps at level 7, making 6 × 2,040 = 12,240 EXP an hour, or 293,760 a day. Taking one beast from Lv.1 to Lv.100 costs 10,072,500 EXP, about 34 days of camp output with nothing else. Each level costs more than the last: Lv.2 is 1,300 EXP, Lv.100 is 250,000 and Lv.350 is 530,000.
Feeding and Advance
A deployed beast also has an Advance tier, from +0 to +20. Each tier adds 5% to the beast's base HP, ATK and Skill Power, so +20 doubles them. Advancing takes two things:
- A full feeding bar. On the Advance tab you feed the beast food (the server picks what it wants). Each feed raises HP, ATK or Skill Power for heroes of one class, chosen at random: Mage, Shooter, Warrior or Tank. The bar is the total of all four classes' rows.
- The beast's level. Advance +N needs beast Lv.5×N: +1 at Lv.5, +10 at Lv.50, +20 at Lv.100. With a full bar but too low a level, the tab shows Advance at Lv.N.
Once the bar is full you cannot feed more until you Advance. The bar gets bigger every three tiers:
| Advance tier | Feeding bar |
|---|---|
| +0 to +2 | 60 |
| +3 to +5 | 120 |
| +6 to +8 | 180 |
| +9 to +11 | 240 |
| +12 to +14 | 300 |
| +15 to +17 | 360 |
| +18 to +20 | 420 |
Each class gets a fixed share of the bar, leaning toward its main stat. At +0 it is Mage 15 (mostly Skill Power), Shooter 15 (mostly ATK), Warrior 15 (mostly HP) and Tank 15 (13 of them HP). At higher tiers every number is multiplied the same way as the bar.
Star Up (Exotic only)
Rare, Epic and Legendary beasts keep the stars they were born with. Exotic beasts are always born at 0★ and are the only ones with a Star Up tab. Each star costs that species' Star-Up Data (for example Dolphin Star-Up Data) plus Marine Beast EXP, the same EXP used for leveling:
| Star | Star-Up Data | Marine Beast EXP | Total Data | Total EXP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1★ | 1 | 2,500,000 | 1 | 2,500,000 |
| 2★ | 2 | 5,000,000 | 3 | 7,500,000 |
| 3★ | 4 | 10,000,000 | 7 | 17,500,000 |
| 4★ | 8 | 20,000,000 | 15 | 37,500,000 |
| 5★ | 16 | 40,000,000 | 31 | 77,500,000 |
Example. Six Training Camps at level 12 make 19,440 EXP an hour, or 466,560 a day. The 77,500,000 EXP for 0★ to 5★ is about 166 days of that output, roughly 7.7 times the EXP for leveling the beast from Lv.1 to Lv.100. Stars also improve the beast's skill: an Exotic Sonic Dolphin's heal goes from 12,000 + 6,000% of Skill Power at 0★ to 15,000 + 7,500% at 5★.
Marine Beast Star-Up Data Choice turns into Star-Up Data for any of the six species.
Refine
Refine rerolls a beast's extra stats, and only Legendary and Exotic beasts can do it. The first extra stat is always a faction bonus, the second a class bonus, and the third either one. Refining never changes rarity, level or stars. Legendary beasts cannot roll S-rated stats.
| Refine | Legendary beast | Exotic beast |
|---|---|---|
| No locks | 10 Legendary Marine Beast Refiner | 10 Exotic Marine Beast Refiner |
| 1 stat locked | not possible | 50 Exotic Refiners + 2 Refiner Locks |
| 2 stats locked | not possible | 100 Exotic Refiners + 4 Refiner Locks |
After each try you choose Save or Discard. The screen has three lock buttons, but only two stats can be locked at once. Locking one stat makes each try cost five times as many Refiners plus 2 Refiner Locks; locking two costs ten times as many plus 4. You cannot change locks while an unsaved result is waiting. Refiner Locks are the same item that gear Refine uses; see Gear Upgrades.
- Auto Refine needs the Premium Monthly Card. You choose up to 3 stats you want, and it stops when a result matches, when you run out of Refiners, or after 100 tries. Starting it removes your locks.
- Plan 2. An Exotic beast at 2★ or higher gets a second set of extra stats you can refine separately and switch between. On anything else the Plan 2 tab says Plan switch feature unlocks at Exotic Marine Beast 2-Star.
Releasing
Release turns an idle beast back into materials, on the Release tab of the Marine Beast Overview. Deployed beasts are not listed. Neither are locked ones: Exotic beasts have a lock button to protect them.
| Released beast | You get |
|---|---|
| Rare | 20 Epic Genes of that species |
| Epic | 100 Legendary Genes |
| Legendary | 200 Exotic Genes |
| Exotic | 1 Star-Up Data, plus the Star-Up Data and EXP its stars cost |
Releases add up toward the next rarity's breeding cost: 20 Rare releases cover one Epic breed's 400 Genes, 8 Epic releases one Legendary breed's 800, and 6 Legendary releases one Exotic breed's 1,200. For an Exotic beast the release preview adds back what you spent on Star Up. A 3★ Exotic shows 1 + 7 = 8 Star-Up Data and 17,500,000 Marine Beast EXP. EXP spent on leveling is not listed.
In Season 1, Legendary beasts cannot be released. The game shows S2 unlocks Legendary Marine Beast Release feature. The same block applies to Exotic beasts.
Exact formulas
- Beast level cap = the highest beast level whose player-level requirement you meet: 100 / 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 at player level 1 / 41 / 51 / 61 / 71.
- Feeding bar at Advance tier g = 60 × (1 + floor(g / 3)). Advance tier g needs beast Lv.5*g* and multiplies base stats by 1 + 0.05*g*.
- Base stat shown by the game's own level preview = floor((star base + level step × star growth) × (1 + 0.05 × tier)). Example: an Exotic Sonic Dolphin at 0★ has 5,534 HP and 118.8 HP growth; the level step at Lv.100 is 140, so Lv.100 at +0 gives 5,534 + 140 × 118.8 = 22,166 HP, and at +20 it gives 44,332. The server's numbers are what count in battle.
- Star Up total to star s = 2^s − 1 Star-Up Data and 2,500,000 × (2^s − 1) EXP.
- Exotic release (preview) = 1 Star-Up Data + Star Up totals for its current star.
Notes
- "Legendary" in the release warning also means Exotic. Both the Release Legendary Marine Beast? confirmation and the Season 1 block trigger for Legendary and Exotic beasts.
- The beast lock is saved on your device. The lock list lives in local storage, not in your account data, so a beast locked on one phone may not show as locked on another.
- The Marine Beast Preview is not your beast. The preview from the breeding screen always shows the 0★ beast at Lv.350 with no Advance bonus, so its stats are higher than any beast you have early on.
- The breeding tab's red dot ignores Ironclad Mermaid. It only checks the first five species, so if Mermaid Genes are the only ones you can afford, the dot will not light up.
- Only 3 idle beasts swim around your base. That is a display limit, not a cap on how many beasts you can own. There is a separate ownership cap (Pet limit reached, release some pets first), but its size is not published.
- In Peak Clash every beast counts as Lv.250, with its other stats unchanged.
- Unconfirmed: how much one feed actually takes off breeding time. The screen shows 240-min Speed-up per feed (that would finish a Rare breed in one feed), but the finish time comes from the server.
- Unconfirmed: how much Breeding EXP one breed gives, and whether rarer breeds give more. The game only shows the EXP reported server-side.
- Unconfirmed: what exactly carries over in Seamless Replace. The screen says Full Level & Tier Inherited, but the request only says which beast goes into which Prep Room.
- Unconfirmed: whether the stats of all three deployed beasts stack. The help text says deployed beasts' base stats affect all heroes but does not say how several deployed beasts combine.
- Unconfirmed: in the English version the Upgrade tab may show the next-level stat gain as +0. The preview compares stat names in Chinese, and the English names never match. That would be a display issue only.
