The World is the shared alliance map you reach from level 16. You don't walk around on it. You send Fleets from your base: at most three, called Fleet I, II and III, and each one is an Expedition Fleet building with its own heroes and durability bar. Almost everything a fleet does costs Gasoline. Attacking a pirate or a resource site costs 300 per fleet, Intel events and Stranded Freighters cost 500, and attacking another alliance's city costs more the farther away it is. Repairing a damaged fleet uses Gasoline too. City War runs every day from 20:00 to 21:00 (UTC+9), and in Season 1 it starts on day 2 of your world.
Getting into the World
The World opens at player level 16, but at exactly level 16 you also need Fleet I built and its tutorial played. Until then the game sends you back to your base with Form Expedition Fleet 1 before entering the World. From level 17 on, the game only checks your level. The Beginner Route covers the level 16 quests that walk you through this. Ocean Trade Tycoon, an alliance trading event, is also entered from the World screen; see Ocean Trade Tycoon & Merchant Ships.
Fleets
Each fleet is an Expedition Fleet building on your base:
| Fleet | Player level | Needs | Build time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fleet I | 16 | — | 32 seconds |
| Fleet II | 19 | Fleet I | 1h 30m |
| Fleet III | 27 | Fleet II | 6h 30m |
Each fleet has its own formation of heroes, its own Marine Beast slot (from the Marine Beast Prep Room of the same number) and its own durability. When you tap a target on the map, you pick one or more fleets from a list that puts idle fleets first. A fleet can only be sent while it is idle. The exception is a city: you can also send a fleet that is queued at another city, as long as it is not already at the target city.
What a trip costs
The cost is per fleet. Sending two fleets at a pirate costs 600 Gasoline. The selection panel shows what you have / what you need before you confirm, and if you are short, the Go button opens the "how to get more" panel instead.
| Target | Gasoline per fleet |
|---|---|
| Pirate | 300 |
| Resource site (Factory, Oasis, Oil Tank) | 300 |
| World Boss | 300 |
| Intel event | 500 |
| Stranded Freighter | 500 |
| Limited Boss | 500 |
| Silicon Ore (Season 3 on) | 500 |
| A city your alliance holds | free |
| Any other city | by distance, see below |
Attacking a city. The distance is measured from your alliance's HQ, not from where the fleet is now. Each distance band has a rate, and the cost per fleet is the rate × distance, rounded up. The rate jumps at each band edge, so a city just past 8,400 costs noticeably more than one just short of it: 4,200 Gasoline per fleet at distance 8,399.9, but 5,040 at 8,400.
| Distance from your HQ | Gasoline per unit of distance |
|---|---|
| under 6,000 | 0.4 |
| 6,000–8,399 | 0.5 |
| 8,400–10,799 | 0.6 |
| 10,800–13,199 | 0.7 |
| 13,200–15,599 | 0.8 |
| 15,600 and more | 0.9 |
Exact formula
- Per fleet = ceil(rate × distance), where the rate comes from the highest band whose start is at or below the distance.
- Total = per fleet × number of fleets sent. Rounding happens before multiplying.
- Example: distance 8,400 with 3 fleets is ceil(0.6 × 8,400) = 5,040 per fleet, 15,120 in total.
- Worlds on the Black Tide map use a cheaper scale above 8,400: 0.55, 0.6, 0.65 and 0.7 instead of 0.6–0.9.
Where Gasoline comes from. Oil Tanks on the World map produce it (see resource sites below), and City War pays out 60,000 a day through its online rewards. Gasoline resets when a new season starts, so there's no point stockpiling it at the end of a season.
Durability and repairs
A fleet shows its durability as Durability: X/Y, with 2,000 as the default maximum. A fleet at 0 durability cannot be sent anywhere: the game opens its repair panel with {fleet} Durability too low, fix needed! The one exception is a fleet sitting in a city that is on fire during City War, which can still be sent out at 0.
Durability below 1,600 already weakens the fleet. In City War and Stranded Freighter battles, a fleet under 1,600 durability deals less damage and healing and takes more damage, and the penalty gets steep fast. Fleet selection marks such fleets as low durability during City War.
| Durability | Damage and healing | Damage taken |
|---|---|---|
| 1,600 or more | normal | normal |
| 1,500–1,599 | −10% | +20% |
| 1,400–1,499 | −20% | +30% |
| 1,300–1,399 | −30% | +50% |
| 1,200–1,299 | −40% | +100% |
| 1,000–1,199 | −50% / −45% | +300% / +200% |
| 800–999 | −60% / −55% | +700% / +500% |
| 600–799 | −80% / −70% | +900% / +800% |
| 400–599 | −95% / −90% | +3,000% / +1,000% |
| 1–399 | −99% | +10,000% |
| 0 | −100% | — |
Where a row has two values, the first is for the lower hundred (1,000–1,099 is −50%, 1,100–1,199 is −45%). How the penalty works inside a battle is on Combat & Damage.
Repairing costs Gasoline and takes time. Open the fleet and press the fix button. The panel shows the Gasoline cost and a MM:SS timer before you confirm. The fleet must be idle, and a fleet queued at a city can't be repaired there (Move to a non-ignited city to fix). If you don't have enough Gasoline for a full repair, the panel offers a partial one for the Gasoline you have. With less than one point's worth it won't start at all. A running repair can be sped up or stopped. The exception is a fleet on City War Assignment, which can't stop.
Repair formula
- Full cost = ceil(Gasoline per point × missing durability).
- If you hold less than that, the cost shown is what you hold, and the time shrinks to match.
- Time in seconds = ceil(cost × seconds per point ÷ Gasoline per point).
- The per-point Gasoline and time come from the game server each time you open the panel. The game data lists 6 Gasoline and 0.15 seconds per point, which would make a full 0 → 2,000 repair 12,000 Gasoline and 5 minutes. This is Unconfirmed: the game never uses those two values.
From VIP 9 and player level 35, each fleet gets two switches: auto speed-up while sailing (30 Diamonds each time) and auto speed-up of repairs (paid in Diamonds). Both turn themselves off when you run out of Diamonds.
Pirates
Pirates come in three kinds: Pirate Vanguard, Pirate Elite and Pirate Boss. Each kind has its own level track: 1–50 in Seasons 1–3, 1–80 from Season 4. The rules:
- One level at a time. For each kind you can only attack the level right after the highest one you have beaten. Attacking a higher one shows Must first defeat Lv.N ….
- The first kill pays once. The first win at a level gives that level's first-kill rewards (in Season 1, the first four levels include your first gear) plus its every-kill rewards. Later wins give the repeat rewards plus the every-kill rewards. Sweeps pay whatever the server sends back, which should be the same.
- Sweeping. Any level you have beaten can be swept without a battle. You get 10 sweeps a day, plus 2 at VIP 1–2, 5 at VIP 3–4, 10 at VIP 5–6, 15 at VIP 7–11, 20 at VIP 12–14 and 25 at VIP 15. Sweeping a level below your best asks Higher-level pirates are available for sweeping. Continue?
- Levels unlock with season phases. A level beyond the current phase is greyed out with Unlocks after entering season Phase {name}. The name is a phase of the season, such as "City Capture", not a season number.
Each pirate page lists the rewards, recommended power and the phase each level opens in: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and later seasons on the Pirates page.
Example. At VIP 5 you have 10 + 10 = 20 sweeps a day. Sweeps don't ask for Gasoline. The 300 is only charged when you send a fleet to fight.
From Season 2, the Season Pass can attack pirates for you. Season 1 has no Season Pass, so in Season 1 every pirate fight is manual. What else each season adds is on Seasons.
Resource sites
Resource sites sit around cities and come in three kinds:
| Site | Produces |
|---|---|
| Factory | Tech Points (Alliance technology) |
| Oasis | Seed (for the Seed Selection Plant) |
| Oil Tank | Gasoline |
- Your alliance must hold the city the site belongs to. Otherwise the game says Must occupy City {name} to attack. Sending a fleet costs 300 Gasoline.
- Sites go from Lv.1 to Lv.15, following the city's level. In Season 1 a Lv.1 Factory recommends 25,000 power and shows 360 Tech Points; a Lv.15 Factory recommends 1,950,000 and shows 1,200.
- The number of sites you can hold at once comes from the game server. At the limit you get Territory limit reached.
- Abandoning a site only asks for confirmation if it is your highest-level one. Lower ones are dropped right away.
Gasoline, Seed and Tech Points all reset when a new season starts. Tech Points also reset your Alliance technology.
City War
City War is an alliance fight over the cities on the map:
- When. Every day from 20:00 to 21:00 UTC+9. In Season 1 the first City War is on day 2 of your world; from Season 2 it starts on day 1. The game server sets the actual window, so trust the countdown in the City War panel.
- Declaring war is done by the alliance Leader or Deputy Leader. The target must border a city your alliance holds. An alliance can have at most 3 declarations at once, and an HQ can't be targeted. Which city levels can be declared on grows with the season phases.
- Attacking a declared city is only possible during the war hour. Any member can send fleets; the cost is the distance-based Gasoline above.
Online rewards. During the war hour, the City War panel has 7 reward tiers for staying online. You claim them one at a time, and each tier's timer starts when you claim the previous one: 1 second, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 5 minutes. All seven take 20 minutes and 1 second, so claim the first tier by about 20:39 or you run out of time before 21:00.
| Tier | Wait | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 s | Gasoline 7,000, Diamonds 30 |
| 2 | 1 min | Gasoline 7,500, Merit 2,000, Rank Tech Points 1,000, Speedup ×20, Diamonds 30 |
| 3 | 2 min | Gasoline 8,000, Merit 4,000, Rank Tech Points 2,000, Material Choice Pack ×5,000, Diamonds 30 |
| 4 | 3 min | Gasoline 8,500, Merit 6,000, Rank Tech Points 4,000, Seed 5,000, Diamonds 30 |
| 5 | 4 min | Gasoline 9,000, Merit 8,000, Rank Tech Points 6,000, Recruitment Card ×1, Collection Master Badge ×2, Diamonds 30 |
| 6 | 5 min | Gasoline 10,000, Merit 10,000, Rank Tech Points 8,000, Tech Points 5,000, Legendary Hero Universal Fragment ×1, Diamonds 30 |
| 7 | 5 min | Gasoline 10,000, Merit 10,000, Rank Tech Points 10,000, Collection Voucher ×1, Legendary Skill Book ×1, Diamonds 30 |
All seven tiers add up to 60,000 Gasoline, 40,000 Merit, 31,000 Rank Tech Points and 210 Diamonds a day, plus one each of a Recruitment Card, Legendary Hero Universal Fragment, Collection Voucher and Legendary Skill Book.
World days
Many World features open on day N of your world rather than on a calendar date. Day 1 is the day your world opened, counted from 00:00 UTC+9 that day. Each midnight UTC+9 adds a day, however late in the day the world opened.
Example. Your world opens on a Tuesday at 15:00 UTC+9. Tuesday is day 1 and Wednesday is day 2, so in Season 1 the first City War is Wednesday 20:00 UTC+9, 29 hours after opening.
In Season 1, City War opens on day 2, Alliance Leader election, the World Boss and the Stranded Freighter on day 3, and Expedition and Exclusive Weapons on day 15. From Season 2 most of these open on day 1. The season's phases (which pirate and city levels unlock) also count from your world's day 1. The full day-by-day table for every season is on Seasons.
Later seasons
Two more World features only exist from Season 3:
- Silicon Ore sites appear on the map. Gathering costs one fleet and 500 Gasoline.
- Alliance Fortifications can be built on alliance cities with Sea Sand. One of them, the Gas Station, halves the Gasoline and time of repairs in its city.
Neither exists in Seasons 1 and 2: the game treats their opening day as "never" in those seasons.
Notes
- A full durability bar is not 2,000. The battle penalty starts below 1,600, so a fleet at 1,550/2,000 already deals 10% less damage and takes 20% more in City War.
- Gasoline does two jobs. The same Gasoline pays for sending fleets and for repairing them, so a day of City War can leave you with damaged fleets and no Gasoline to fix them. The war hour's online rewards give 60,000 back.
- City attack cost ignores where your fleet is. It is always measured from your alliance's HQ, so moving a fleet closer first does not make the attack cheaper.
- The City War time is fixed to UTC+9 in the global version. The day counter uses the same clock, so "day 2" starts at midnight UTC+9, not at your local midnight.
- The Intel board's Auto button collects, it doesn't send fleets. Its description says Intel Auto-Run uses Gasoline and pauses offline. In version 1.3.4 the button (level 30 and the regular Month Card) claims every finished Intel event at once, and the feature that would send fleets out by itself is not enabled.
- No expeditions around a server merge. Sending fleets is blocked for the hour before a server merge, and pirates can't be attacked on the merge day.
- The month cards do not add pirate sweeps in version 1.3.4, even though the game checks them. Only VIP raises the daily limit.
- Unconfirmed: how much durability a fight costs. It is calculated server-side, and the game only shows the new value. The game data lists 100 durability for a City War battle and 0 for pirates, resource sites and World Bosses, but the game never uses these values.
- Unconfirmed: whether the durability penalty applies to pirate fights. The battle applies whichever penalty level the server sends, and the game only displays it in City War and Stranded Freighter battles.
- Unconfirmed: whether a short-Gasoline repair restores part of the bar or is refused. The panel offers a partial repair, but the server decides.
