Every hero has three gear slots: Weapon, Armor and Blade. Blade is the accessory slot, not a sword. Gear opens at player level 16. Each piece is upgraded on its own detail screen with up to four buttons. Enhance raises its level and costs only Enhancement Stones. Refine rerolls its random stats. Star Up and Hone exist only for Exotic gear. How far you can enhance depends on rarity and star. Uncommon gear stops at Lv.20, while Exotic gear goes from Lv.135 at 0★ to Lv.260 at 5★. Badges and Exclusive Weapons are upgraded separately; see Badges & Exclusive Weapons.
Where gear comes from
- Pirates. Your first pieces are Uncommon gear from World pirate first kills; see the Beginner Route.
- The Gear Factory (player level 17) forges Rare, Epic and Legendary gear. Exotic recipes are added in Season 2. The star a piece is forged with depends on your Forge Level, which that page explains.
- The 7-day login reward gives a Legendary Sniper Rifle on day 7.
All 27 pieces with their stats at every star are on the gear list.
What each rarity can do
| Rarity | Max level (0★ → 5★) | Random stat slots | Upgrades available |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uncommon | 20 (no stars) | 0 | Enhance |
| Rare | 30 → 55 | 0 | Enhance |
| Epic | 65 → 90 | 1 | Enhance |
| Legendary | 100 → 125 | 2 | Enhance, Refine |
| Exotic | 135 → 260 | 3 | Enhance, Refine, Star Up, Hone |
Random stat slots open at fixed gear levels: the first at Lv.65, the second at Lv.100, the third at Lv.135. A slot counts only if the piece's max level reaches it. Even a 5★ Epic piece (max Lv.90) has one slot, and a 0★ Legendary piece already has room for two. Until the piece is enhanced that far, the slot shows a level lock.
Enhance
Enhance raises the piece one level per press, up to its max level. You can hold the button to keep enhancing. The only cost is Enhancement Stones, and the price depends on the level you are going to, not on the rarity. A Rare piece and an Exotic piece pay the same for Lv.30. Level belongs to the piece, so it stays the same when you move the piece to another hero.
| To level | Stones per level | Total from Lv.1 |
|---|---|---|
| 2–10 | 50 | 450 |
| 11–20 | 100 | 1,450 |
| 21–30 | 200 | 3,450 |
| 31–55 | 300 → 700 (every 5 levels) | 15,950 |
| 56–65 | 900, then 1,000 | 25,450 |
| 66–90 | 1,100 → 1,800 | 61,950 |
| 91–100 | 2,000, then 2,200 | 82,950 |
| 101–125 | 2,400 → 3,200 | 152,950 |
| 126–135 | 3,500, then 3,700 | 188,950 |
| 136–260 | 3,900 → 15,400 | 1,300,950 |
The totals line up with the max levels in the table above. Taking a 0★ Epic piece to its cap (Lv.65) costs 25,450 stones, a 0★ Legendary piece (Lv.100) 82,950, and a 0★ Exotic piece (Lv.135) 188,950.
Each level adds the same amount to the piece's base stats. A 0★ Penetrator Gun has 427 ATK at Lv.1 and 415 + 12.4 × 135 = 2,089 ATK at Lv.135.
Refine (Legendary and Exotic)
Refine rerolls the piece's random stats. Each roll costs Gear Refiners:
| Gear | Locked stats | Cost per roll |
|---|---|---|
| Legendary | 0 (locks not offered) | 10 Legendary Gear Refiners |
| Exotic | 0 | 10 Exotic Gear Refiners |
| Exotic | 1 | 50 Exotic Gear Refiners + 1 Refiner Lock |
| Exotic | 2 | 100 Exotic Gear Refiners + 2 Refiner Locks |
- A roll does not replace your stats right away. The result appears next to the current stats, and you choose Save or Discard.
- On Exotic gear you can lock up to two stats so they stay the same. You cannot change locks while an unsaved result is waiting.
- The tips button on the Refine screen lists the stats that can roll and their chances. All gear uses the same list: HP%, ATK%, Skill Power% and Hit Rate are 10% each; Armor, RES and Crit RES 8% each; ATK Speed, DMG Increase, DMG Reduction, Armor PEN, RES PEN, Crit, Dodge, HP Drain and HP Regen 4% each. The value and grade of a roll are decided by the game server.
Auto-Refine needs the Premium Monthly Card. You pick target stats (up to three on Exotic gear, two on Legendary) and whether any or all of them must appear. The game then rolls for you, discarding each miss. It stops when a roll matches, after 100 rolls, or when you run out of Refiners. Locks cannot be used with Auto-Refine.
Star Up (Exotic only)
Rare to Legendary gear keeps the star it was forged with. Exotic gear is always forged at 0★ and gains stars with Star Up:
| Star | Energy Cubes | Enhancement Stones | New max level | Max Hone level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0★ (forged) | — | — | 135 | 10 |
| 1★ | 1 | 100,000 | 160 | 20 |
| 2★ | 2 | 200,000 | 185 | 30 |
| 3★ | 4 | 400,000 | 210 | 40 |
| 4★ | 8 | 800,000 | 235 | 50 |
| 5★ | 16 | 1,600,000 | 260 | 60 |
From 0★ to 5★ an Exotic piece needs 31 Energy Cubes and 3,100,000 Enhancement Stones. A star also raises the piece's base stats at its current level. Before you confirm, the Star Up tab shows a before-and-after preview of the stats.
Hone (Exotic only)
Hone adds a fixed bonus on top of the gear's stats. Each Hone level costs Enhancement Stones and Honing Stones, and the Hone cap is 10 per star (column above). At the cap, the screen shows Unlocks max Hone level after upgrading Gear to N-Star.
| Hone level | Enhancement Stones per level | Honing Stones per level |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | 90,500 | 100 |
| 11–20 | 108,500 | 120 |
| 21–30 | 130,000 | 140 |
| 31–40 | 156,000 | 170 |
| 41–50 | 187,000 | 200 |
| 51–60 | 224,500 | 240 |
Hone 10 costs 905,000 Enhancement Stones and 1,000 Honing Stones in total; Hone 60 costs 8,965,000 and 9,700.
What Hone adds depends on the slot. Weapons and Blades get ATK, Skill Power and DMG Increase; Armor gets HP and DMG Reduction. The per-level amount comes from the piece's current star, so starring up also raises the bonus from Hone levels you already have. A 0★ Penetrator Gun at Hone 10 gets +900 ATK, +1,800 Skill Power and +3.0% DMG Increase. At 1★ every Hone level is worth 116 ATK instead of 90, so Hone 20 gives +2,320 ATK.
Exact formulas
- Base stat at level L = base + growth × L, using the row for the piece's rarity and star.
- Enhance cost to reach level L = the stone cost listed for L; the total is the sum from Lv.2 to L.
- Hone bonus at Hone level h (h ≥ 1) = per-level value × h, for each Hone stat, using the row for the current star. At Hone 0 there is no bonus.
- Random stat slots = number of 65 / 100 / 135 that are not above the piece's max level.
Dismantle and Reset
Dismantle (from the gear list) turns unequipped, unlocked gear into materials:
| Dismantled gear | Gives |
|---|---|
| Uncommon | 5 Rare material of the same slot |
| Rare | 10 Epic material of the same slot |
| Epic | 40 Legendary material of the same slot |
| Legendary | 100 Exotic material of the same slot |
| Exotic | 1 Energy Cube |
"Material of the same slot" means Firearm Material for a Weapon, Armor Material for Armor and Blade Material for a Blade. Exotic Armor gives Exotic Bulletproof Fiber.
On top of that, the dismantle preview gives back everything you spent upgrading the piece: all Enhancement Stones for its level, and on Exotic gear the Energy Cubes and stones from Star Up plus the stones from Hone. Refiners spent on Refine are not returned. A 1★ Exotic piece at Lv.135 with Hone 10 shows 1,193,950 Enhancement Stones, 2 Energy Cubes and 1,000 Honing Stones.
Legendary and Exotic gear cannot be dismantled until Season 2. Reset on the gear's detail screen takes a piece back to Lv.1 and returns materials; it is greyed out at Lv.1.
Planning tips
- Enhancing a piece you will replace is not wasted. Dismantling refunds every Enhancement Stone spent on levels. In Season 1 that refund only works for Uncommon to Epic gear, because Legendary gear cannot be dismantled until Season 2.
- Check the random stat before you pour stones into an Epic piece. Epic gear has one random stat and no Refine button, so the stat it has is the stat it keeps.
- Exotic gear runs on Enhancement Stones. From 0★ Lv.1 to 5★ Lv.260 with Hone 60, one piece takes 1,300,950 + 3,100,000 + 8,965,000 = 13,365,950 Enhancement Stones. The Smelter produces them every hour from player level 17.
Notes
- The Season 2 dismantle message only mentions Legendary gear, but Exotic is blocked too. The check stops anything Legendary or above while your world is in Season 1.
- The dismantle filter "≤ Rare" does not select Rare gear. It auto-selects only gear below the chosen rarity: "≤ Rare" picks Uncommon, and "≤ Epic" picks Uncommon and Rare. Add the boundary rarity by hand.
- Refine and Hone are easy to mix up. Refine changes which random stats the piece has. Hone adds a fixed bonus that only goes up.
- Equipped gear is not in the dismantle list. Take it off the hero first. Locked gear is left out as well.
- Unconfirmed: what you actually receive from dismantling and Reset. The refund list above is the game's own preview; the real amounts are set server-side, and how much Reset returns is not published.
- Unconfirmed: whether Star Up changes the random stats. The preview of the next star comes from the server, which also sends the random stats for it.
- Unconfirmed: whether non-Exotic gear can ever be starred up. The game has stats for 1★–5★ Rare to Legendary pieces, but the Star Up button only works for Exotic gear in version 1.3.4.
