Seasons: Level Caps, Unlock Days and What Resets

Wild Water World is played in seasons. Your season decides your player level cap (40 in Season 1, then 10 more each season up to 100 in Season 7), which heroes, Marine Beasts and gear rarities exist, and on which day of your world each World feature opens. Seasons 1 to 3 run for 24 days, with mid-season results on day 12. From Season 4 a season runs 45 days, with mid-season results on day 21. A new season starts when your server is merged with others into a new world, and that clears the World map, your alliance's progress and your Gasoline.

Which season you are in

The Season button on the World screen opens the season screen. On its Season Goals tab the title reads Season Goal - S2 (or S1, S3…), and that number is your season. The game works it out from the ID of the world you play in, so everyone in the same world is always in the same season.

The "S" in a server name is not the season. Server names in the global version, such as S12, are the server's number. A new server still starts in Season 1.

Moving to the next season. Once your server has a merge plan, a New Season button appears next to the Season button. It lists the servers you will be merged with, the time of the merge, and what changes in the new season. From the hour before the merge you can't send fleets anywhere, and pirates can't be attacked on merge day. The game data doesn't say how long a server waits between the final results and the merge; the date is set server-side.

From Season 4, the move to a new season starts with Free Squad-up: for 72 hours you can form a squad with players from four servers. Each squad becomes an alliance in the new season, and its Captain becomes the Alliance Leader. If you haven't joined a squad by the end, the game puts you in one.

Seasons 6 and 7 are not live in the global version yet. The oldest global servers opened in June 2026, and as of October 2026 none has reached Season 6.

  • Heroes from a later season don't exist yet. They are missing from your hero list until your world reaches their season.
  • Hero and Marine Beast level caps follow your player level, not the season directly. The season only matters because it caps your player level. Each player level allows 5 more hero levels: Lv.200 at player level 40, Lv.250 at 50, Lv.500 at 100.
  • Skill Advance upgrades skill 1 past Lv.5 with a Skill Advancement Stone. Only Leon, River Dragon has it in the global version; see Hero Stars & Skills.
  • Gear is covered in Gear Upgrades, and Marine Beast species and rarities in Marine Beasts.

Locked in Season 1 only. Three things open as soon as your world reaches Season 2:

  • Dismantling Legendary and Exotic gear.
  • Releasing Legendary and Exotic Marine Beasts.
  • Leaving or disbanding your alliance. In Season 1 the game refuses with Cannot leave/disband Alliance in the initial season.

World days: when each feature opens

Many World features wait for day N of your world. Day 1 is the day your world opened, and each midnight UTC+9 adds one, as explained under World days. Each season counts its own days: day 1 is the first day of the new season (the Season 2 notice puts City War Tasks on "Day 6 of the season").

FeaturePlayer levelSeason 1Season 2Season 3Season 4+

Mid-season results—day 12day 12day 12day 21
Final results—day 24day 24day 24day 45

You need both: the player level and the day. At level 30 in Season 1, Expedition and the Exclusive Weapon tab stay grey until day 15. "Never" means the feature does not exist in that season, whatever the day.

Example. Your Season 1 world opens on a Tuesday. Point Match and the Daily Competition open on day 8, the following Tuesday. Expedition opens on day 15, the Tuesday after that. Mid-season results come on day 12 (a Saturday) and the final results on day 24 (the Thursday three weeks later).

How the game picks the day for a season
  • Each feature stores four opening days: Season 1, 2, 3, and one used for Season 4 and every later season.
  • A stored day of 0 means "never in this season". Any other day N opens the feature once your world day is N or more.
  • The Daily Competition is the exception: it opens on day 8 in Season 1 and on any day from Season 2, using its own setting.

Season phases

Inside a season, the Season Goals tab splits the days into phases. Each phase raises the highest city level alliances can declare war on and the highest pirate level you can attack. A pirate level beyond the current phase shows Unlocks after entering season Phase {name}. Each phase also has a World Goal for the whole server and a Personal Goal, each with its own reward. Seasons 1 to 3 have the same 12 phases:

In Season 1, City War only starts on day 2, so the Lv.1–3 cities of the first phase can't be fought over on day 1. The current phase comes from the game server; if it lags behind the day, the server's phase wins. Pirate rewards for each level are on the pirate pages: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3.

Mid-season and final results

The season screen has a leaderboard with three tabs. Until the mid-season results it is the Mid-Season Leaderboard; after that it becomes the Season Leaderboard, which pays out at the final results. The countdown on the leaderboard comes from the game server.

TabRanksPoints
Alliancealliances in your worldtotal Occupation Points of the cities the alliance holds; losing a city loses its points
Meritplayers1 point per Merit earned; this board starts again from zero after the mid-season results
Techplayers1 point per Tech Point spent; Rank Tech Points used for rank upgrades don't count

The Merit and Tech boards reward ranks 1 to 1,000. In Season 1, first place on the Merit board gets 50 Exotic Hero Universal Fragments, 50 Exotic Skill Books and 400 Season Coins at both the mid-season and final results. The final results add a title, avatar frame and chat frame for the top three. Each reward list also shows on the leaderboard's Rewards button.

Alliance Loot. The Alliance tab pays out as loot chests that the Alliance Leader hands out, one per member. The alliance's rank decides how many of each chest it gets. A normal world has four alliances, and in Season 1 the alliance in first place gets 1 Legendary Loot, 4 Epic Loot, 20 Rare Loot, 30 Fine Loot and Common Loot for everyone else. The Leader has 2 days after the results to hand them out. After that, the remaining chests go out by each member's Merit at the time of the results, best chest to the highest Merit. A chest can't be taken back once given.

What resets at a new season

The New Season notice lists what the merge clears. In every season from 2 to 7 the list is the same:

  • The World: every city goes back to neutral, every resource site you hold is dropped, and pirate and World Boss kill records are wiped. You start each pirate track at Lv.1 again, with the new season's pirate rewards.
  • Your World resources: all Gasoline, Seed and Tech Points are cleared. Rank Tech Points also reset, and so do Alliance technology and Rank Tech.
  • Your alliance: Alliance level, Alliance technology, Alliance Packs and the Merit rankings reset. Unclaimed alliance requests and assistance items are lost, so claim them first.
  • Season items: the Season Pass expires, Season Chest attempts reset, and unused Season Chest keys and Season Key Choice Packs are cleared. Season Shop purchase limits reset.
  • Arena rankings reset. City War and Stranded Freighter battle reports are claimed for you before the merge.

What carries over. Season Coins are not cleared at the season's end, and neither is Precision Gear. The notices don't list your heroes, gear, Marine Beasts, buildings or Bag items among the resets.

So spend Gasoline, Seed and Tech Points before the merge rather than saving them. Season Coins can wait.

Notes

  • Several dates in the table come only from the server. The game itself checks the day for City War, the Stranded Freighter, Point Match, the Daily Competition, Expedition, Exclusive Weapons, Chips, the Season Pass, Season Chest, Season Factory and the Alliance Merchant Ship shop. The days for the Leader election, World Boss, City War Tasks and the two results are in the same game data, but the server applies them. The Season 2 and Season 4 notices agree with them (City War Tasks on day 6; results on days 21 and 45).
  • A season can end before you reach its level cap. At the cap the level screen shows Max Season Level. Whether you can get from level 1 to 40 within Season 1's 24 days depends on how fast you earn EXP, which the game data doesn't show. Unconfirmed.
  • Seth's season differs between the game data and the notices. The game data adds Seth, the Warden in Season 6 along with Serena and Super Tom, so he shows up in Season 6 hero lists. The Season 6 notice only names Serena and Super Tom, and the Season 7 notice announces Seth.
  • There is also a "Conquest Season". The game data contains a season on a different map, Black Tide, with 17 phases and its own pirates, leaderboards and Free Squad-up. Its notice says all worlds merge into it after Season 5 and lists the Season 6 and 7 heroes as new. Whether a given server goes from Season 5 to Season 6 or to the Conquest Season is decided by the server. Unconfirmed.
  • The Season Shop is open in every season, Season 1 included. Season Pass, Season Chest and Season Factory tabs only appear on the season screen in the seasons shown above.
  • The Season Factory trades 1 Precision Gear plus 10 Legendary Gear Refiners for 1 Exotic Gear Refiner. It does the same with 10 Legendary Marine Beast Refiners for 1 Exotic Marine Beast Refiner.
  • Unconfirmed: what happens to alliance membership at a merge before Season 4. The Season 2 and 3 notices say a new Leader is elected on day 2 at 22:00 UTC+9, but not how alliances are formed in the new world.
